Who's talking about what?

By Barbara Zaccone

Referred to as "citizen media", user-generated web content is growing in leaps and bounds. With over 175,000 new blogs generated every day and 1.6 million posts per day, getting the latest scoop on any topic is just a few clicks away.

If you haven't already done so it's time to check out Technorati.com. Claiming to track 60 million blogs, the site has a powerful blog search engine and also serves as a content aggregator through 'tagging' and blog tracking. According to Technorati they "search, surface, and organize blogs and the other forms of independent, user-generated content (photos, videos, voting, etc.). Blogs are powerful because they allow millions of people to easily publish and share their ideas, and millions more to read and respond. They engage the writer and reader in an open conversation, and are shifting the Internet paradigm as we know it."

Technorati is best used for finding out what the people are talking about. It's great for finding new blogs relating to your interests or current events. Sometimes the very best coverage of late-breaking news comes directly from unknown but on-the-scene bloggers. You can also use it to find out who linked to your blog. Sending a ping to Technorati also gives your blog some incoming links, which will make your blog searchable to other bloggers.

How to know what's "Just Good for You"

When Bettina Garber searched the European landscape for unique bath and body products to launch in the United States she found her wining collection in her native Germany. Garber, President and founder of Just Good for You LLC then turned to BZA to bring her exclusive collection to the US retail market at JustGoodForYou.com. The site's elegance, unique presence and enticing photography keep the visitor engaged as they explore the site. All product photography was taken by BZA with particular attention on the product packaging. This method helped to exhibit the elegance and uniqueness of each product. According to Orlando Haddock, the site's designer, "We wanted the imagery to emphasize the unique ingredients in the product line which are pearls, rubies, and jasper. We included photography of real pearls and rubies so visitors are reminded of the unique luxury they'll find in each bottle."

Integrated into the site is a shopping cart where visitors can securely order the products online. To visit the site go to http://www.justgoodforyou.com.
