Save Money and Make a Great Impression

Before the web and color laser printers, marketing materials had to be professionally printed. Brochures, old newsletters, press releases, sell sheets proudly hid in a closet waiting for their obsolesence date to arrive and off they would go into the dumpster (that was even before recycling). Now with PDFs and online information we put the onus on the reader to print out what they need. In spite of this trend, we are finding today a resurgence of the Pocket Folder. Why?

Businesses not only want to create a professional impression, but they still want to leave behind some marketing materials that remain visible and stay in front of the prospect.

What's great about a pocket folder is you can custom assemble its content based upon your specific needs. Documents like press releases, proposals, articles, PowerPoint presentations, photographs, case studies, etc. are placed in the folder to keep everything organized and protected. And because pocket folders typically don't have a lot of information they rarely become obsolete. Printing costs for pocket folders vary from as little as $1.00 a piece to $5.00 each for those made with expensive papers, custom cut pockets, and added elements like foil and embossing.

With their long shelf life, usefulness, affordable cost along with the fact they create a polished and professional image, pocket folders provide outstanding value for many of our clients.

BZA Launches New Web Site for the Paterson Education Fund

BZA recently launched a new web site for the Paterson Education Fund (PEF) located at www.paterson-education.org. PEF is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to stimulate community action for change so that the Paterson Public Schools ensure that all Paterson children achieve high standards. The site has a very clean and simple design that allows the visitor to quickly find information based upon three main tabs; Learn, Vote and Act.

Integrated into the site is an online advocacy system that offers multiple ways for constituents to deliver PEF's message to state and federal elected officials.

According to Irlene Sterling, President and founder of PEF, "the web site has brought our organization to a whole new level". Founded in 1983, PEF's activities build and nourish a constituency for systematic school reform by educating the community on the importance of high standards and expectations in providing quality education for all children.

Still Using Internet Explorer 6? Time to upgrade.

Did you know that Internet Explorer 6 (IE6) lacks many web browser industry standards? This causes some quirky phenomena that drives web designers crazy. As we have seen over the past 15 years, the Internet has evolved leaps and bounds since it's infancy, thanks, in part, to the standardization of web site concepts and development. Spearheaded and defined by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), standards for HTML, XHTML, and CSS function as guides for web site designers and developers so they can create a cohesive user experience across the spectrum of web browsers.

Most web browsers, which are the applications you use to view a web site, are also developed to adhere to the standards suggested by the W3C. When web browsers and web sites implement a set of standards, the result is a seamless user experience.

Today, all of the major browsers, i.e., Firefox, Safari, Opera, and Internet Explorer 7, are built with these standards in mind. Internet Explorer 6 (IE6), on the other hand, lacks standards compliance and has forced web designers to develop unstable fixes and hacks to work around the IE6 quirks. Luckily, Microsoft has fixed many of these issues with it's latest release, Internet Explorer 7 (IE7), which came out in 2006. Surprisingly, most Windows users are still surfing the Internet with the hobbled IE6, and they are not able to experience the full breadth of web site capabilities.

To see if you are still using Interent Explorer 6, go to the top menu of your browser and select "Help" then "About Internet Explorer". A box will pop up displaying the Internet Explorer logo and text. Below the logo, you will see the version number. If your version number is less than 7, we recommend upgrading to Internet Explorer 7 (found here) or switching to Mozilla's Firefox browser (found here).

BZA Integrates Live Help on BZA.com

The next time you visit BZA.com you could be treated to experience our new interactive customer service with a pop-up message offering you online chat assistance. Being able to offer online chat while someone is browsing your web site can dramatically increase sales and promote quality customer service. According to Star Development, site visitors are more than twice as likely to purchase products and services after using Live Help and chatting to your staff. How does it work?

Live Help allows your sales operators to proactively initiate Live Help chat requests to site visitors. Before the operator chooses to initiate live help he/she will have available to them the visitors country, current page they are visiting, as well as the referrer (how was the visitor referred to your web site ). The initiate chat feature is popup friendly and allows your browsing visitors to accept or decline an invitation.

Live Help software is installed on your own web server, there is no monthly or subscription fees. The Live Help Messenger application allows your operator to easily chat and interact with site visitors from within a Windows application rather than your web browser.

If you would like to explore how you can integrate this capability into your web site please contact us.
